Life at St. Michael’s N.S. is full of opportunities to explore, create, collaborate and discover. We celebrate children’s learning through displays of their work, school projects and updates from across our school.

We help children develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Explicit phonics teaching, shared stories and engaging literacy activities support their progress.
Our Book Worm scheme gives pupils opportunities to enjoy books at home and develop a lifelong love of reading.

We encourage children to explore mathematical ideas through discussion, games, practical materials and problem-solving. Pupils learn to explain their thinking, make connections and build confidence in using maths.

Our Student Council gives pupils a voice in school life. Representatives share ideas, listen to others and help make positive changes for our school community.
Recent projects include developing yard activity zones and supporting our costume and uniform reuse initiative.
We want every child to feel that they belong. Through our Amber Flag activities, assemblies and everyday classroom practice, we encourage kindness, friendship and positive wellbeing.
Our Golden Rules—Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Ready—help us care for ourselves, each other and our school.
We are proud to participate in the Green Schools programme. Children learn about caring for the environment through recycling, reducing waste and taking practical action in our school and community.

Music, art and drama give children opportunities to express themselves and develop their creativity. Our weekly Music Generation sessions provide further opportunities to enjoy making music together.

Through the Say Yes to Languages programme, pupils in Fifth and Sixth Class enjoy French lessons. These classes introduce children to a new language and culture through enjoyable, interactive learning experiences.

Children enjoy a range of activities, including gymnastics, Zumba, fundamental movement skills and GAA coaching. These experiences help pupils develop coordination, balance, confidence and teamwork while enjoying being active.
Each year, our school participates in Cumann na mBunscol hurling and football, with Under-11 and Under-13 girls’ teams and Under-11 and Under-13 boys’ teams. We encourage participation, effort, fair play and pride in representing our school.
