We want every family to feel welcome, informed and supported at St. Michael’s N.S. This page brings together useful information about the school day and how we can work together to support your child.

Our School Day

9.10 a.m.: School opens to receive pupils.

9.20 a.m.: Classes begin.

2.00 p.m.: Junior and Senior Infants finish.

3.00 p.m.: First to Sixth Class finish.

School Uniform

Our school uniform is a school tracksuit, available from O’Reilly Sports. Comfortable clothing and suitable footwear help children participate fully in learning, play and physical activity.

School Meals

School meals are provided free of charge through our school meals programme. Please keep the school informed of any allergies or dietary requirements and follow the school’s guidance on food brought from home.

Homework 

Homework offers an opportunity to practise familiar learning and share a little of the school day at home. Keep practice short, positive and encouraging, following the guidance provided by your child’s teacher.

Our Book Worm scheme encourages reading for pleasure. Sharing books, talking about stories and enjoying reading together all help children develop confidence and a love of books.

Supporting Your Child

We recognise that children learn in different ways and at different rates. Class teachers ,Special Ed teachers and SNA's work with families to identify needs, build on strengths and support participation in school life.

Parents Association

Our Parents Association helps strengthen the partnership between home and school. All parents and guardians of children attending St. Michael’s N.S. are members, and we welcome your ideas and involvement.
